FAQs
−What is a manual tilt trailer?
A manual tilt trailer has a flat deck that can be tilted manually to create a low loading angle, making it easier to load vehicles, machinery, or equipment onto the trailer. Unlike hydraulic tippers, the tilt function is operated by hand. See also our Car Carrier Trailer and Tipper Trailers.
+How does a manual tilt mechanism work?
The deck is hinged at a pivot point near the rear of the trailer. By releasing a locking pin and using the weight of the load or a hand mechanism, the deck tilts down toward the ground. Once loaded, you lock the deck back in the flat position for towing.
+What's the difference between a manual tilt and a hydraulic tipper?
A manual tilt is operated by hand without any power assistance, which makes it simpler and more affordable. A hydraulic tipper uses electric or hydraulic power to lift heavier loads more easily. For lighter loads, manual tilt is very practical. See our Tipper Trailers for hydraulic options.
+What can be loaded on a manual tilt trailer?
Manual tilt trailers are popular for loading cars, ride-on mowers, ATVs, motorbikes, and small machinery. The low loading angle reduces the risk of ground clearance issues.
+How heavy a load can a manual tilt trailer handle?
This depends on the model. Check the GVM and payload rating on the product page. If you’re moving something heavy, make sure you stay within the rated capacity.
